Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown

Gazpacho, anyone? This musical adaptation of Pedro Almodóvar's beloved film centres on Pepa, an actress in 1980s Madrid having a relationship crisis.

We meet her missing (possibly philandering) lover, Ivan; his ex-wife with a score to settle, Lucia; their son Carlos and his fiancée; Pepa's friend, Candela, and her terrorist boyfriend; a power-suited lawyer, and a taxi driver who dispenses tissues, mints and advice in equal proportion. Mayhem and comic madness abound, balanced by the empathy and heart that are trademarks of Almodóvar's work.

Both touching and hilarious, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown is a story about women and the men who pursue them... finding them, losing them, needing them, and rejecting them.

Director Mark Siddall says: “I am so excited to be directing this show for Sedos. Women On The Verge is a zany comedy, full of strong characters, entangled relationships, passionate emotions and high stakes, coupled with a fantastic Latin-flavoured score.
